The earth moved but the mallard didn't!

I was sitting on the couch with the cat this afternoon when the earth quake hit. I didn't quite know what to make of the couch moving on it's own, with me sitting on it, and the cat woke up looking at me wondering who was shaking him awake! Many items in the living room were mildly shaking, no noise just vibrating for 10-15 seconds! Called hubby at York University in Toronto and they had felt it too! It was on the internet news minutes afterwards! Such a strange experience on a nice sunny afternoon.No further after shocks, I went out and visited this pond nearby which was busy with geese and ducks preening and napping! I guess the earth quake didn't ruffle many feathers!
