The weekend was not what we hoped, but it turned out better than Saturday morning suggested it might. Without getting into details, we discovered that Mum was actually very ill on Saturday morning so instead of getting ready for her and Shona's 70th birthday lunch, we made the drive into town tossing up the pros and cons of hospital versus after-hours doctor clinic. By Saturday afternoon there were signs of recovery, Sunday, she was much better, Monday better still. There will be a couple of weeks of resting and laying low in store for her yet.

It was quite a scare for all of us. Not one I want to repeat.
