Dragonfly

I've spent many hours watching the Emperor dragonflies which frequent my field pond. And longed to get a photo. So have spent a lot of time over recent years with camera at the ready. Those darned things move so fast, and I can never tell once they go down into the grass where they are. But one day this one came down onto one of the lily stems, and stayed some time - which finally gave me the chance to creep close and take this picture. Technically it's not a brilliant photo, but I finally have that elusive shot. Now if I could just get one of them in mid-air ....
