Peg's Birthday Party
At "Scott's Open Mic Night" this evening we celebrated Peg's birthday (even though it is really tomorrow). Peg is Scott's wife and one of my best friends.
Peg is a geographer and Mr. Fun & I have had the pleasure of traveling the world with Scott & Peg, and when the guys can't go because their schedules don't allow for play time, then Peg and I go! Currently Peg's schedule is jam packed because she is in the final year of her Ph.D. program at USC. She's amazing . . . a wife, mom, grandma, friend, pilot, professor, artist . . . she's amazing.
We haven't been to Open Mic in quite a while, and it is currently happening at Java Joe's in Yorba Linda every Tuesday night. The dinner menu was Hawaiian grilled chicken for $5.99 a plate.
We were so glad to be at Peg's celebration. She had asked all the musicians to play her favorite tunes--that was a kick and quite an eclectic sound track for the evening . . . my favorite of her requests was Dan Fogelberg's "Run for the Roses."
Peg asked the gals to all wear "fascinators." She's crazy and so are her friends -- and that makes life so much fun. Another good friend brought a beautiful cake she had made.
So, "Happy Birthday Peg!"
Good night from Southern California.

P.S. We had so much fun celebrating Peg that this is being uploaded 12 hours late.
P.P.S. Last year, Peg's cake was a beauty too!
