Eel Crag (sheep above Gale Rd carpark)
I am struggling enormously trying to capture 'proper' landscape shots.
I know its all about the light and I know I should always use a tripod for the very sharpest results.
But on a day like today when the district was filled with rain as well as patchy sunlight making various brief appearances between the gaps in the clouds, I felt I should have done a better job of capturing what I could see with my eyes.
Do I need filters? (haven't got any of any type)
One thing I did learn was that f22 shows up the tiniest specks of rain on the lens (6 in shot, tut tut)
You can see a couple of others from tonight that made the grade here
I tend to mess about so much in PP that I can't decide what looks best then end up choosing B&W as there is little colour anyway in a lot of these shots.
I suppose this is why you see so many Lake District photos of the winter when frost and snow removes so much of the 'samey' green and brings a new element to the scene, and more contrast and reflected light.
