The Arts Centre

This collection of lovely old buildings was Christchurch's university until the early 70s. It suffered heavy damage in the series of earthquakes we've experienced in the last... nearly a year since the first one on 4 September 2010.

The 22 February 2011 quake did most of this damage.

It will take a brave person to authorise demolition of the Arts Centre, but how can you justify throwing good money after bad to prop up a piece of history?

I was in there on 22 Feb and will be as sad as anyone if it can't be saved, but I fully support anyone with the guts to say it's just too expensive
