hannaheno's daily lives

Sanxenxo

We are on the northern coast of Spain, in Galicia, where it turns out my Spanish lessons have been pointless as they don't speak Spanish here, but Galician. Spain is very confusing like this. Galician is of course similar but different in enough respects to make my (not very good) Spanish incomprehensible.

True to Spanish form, there are sculptures everywhere in this upmarket seaside town. We are staying in the hills in a small villa overlooking the sea and town, and the sounds of cannons are bouncing of the hills behind us. Cannons, or fireworks, we don't know why. There are fiestas here a lot of the time.
