Champion!!

Sunday - the last day of Birdfair.

Gail and I arrived early to go to a talk on planting your garden for wildlife which was very interesting.

Then we headed into the Event Tent to listen to Johnny Kingdom tell some Tales From Exmoor. What a varied life he has led. His stories had all of the audience crying with laughter. He did the whole talk in camouflage netting (see below).

The highlight of the whole Fair is the Wild Brain of Britain quiz. Last year Mike Dilger beat Chris Packham to the title and was back to defend it. Wonderfully hosted by Stephen Moss it was very entertaining, with Mike Dilger retaining his title with a strong performance in the general knowledge round.

Mike Dilger rounded off the Fair with a final talk. Before that he had agreed to meet with us for a drink and some photos. He was really lovely to talk to and we appreciated him sparing time for us.

We had THE most fabulous time at Birdfair and would highly recommend it - especially if the weather is as good as it was this year.
