Zagora village, Magnisia, Greece.
We made a small tour today. We drove the way to Afetes, Neochori, having the chance to be in the central part of the mountain and having the view of the Aegean sea on our east side, Lambinou, Xourichi, Tsagkarada, Mouresi, Kissos, Anilio, Macrirachi, Zagora- where the picture is taken.
I was very disappointed in Zagora with the Old School there. This was the school where many great Greeks studied there. Among them was Rigas Fereos (one of the leaders of the 1821 greek-turkish revolution), Anthimos Gazis, Grigoris Konstantas and Kallinikos Lapatis (patriarch of Constantinople). It should have not been closed this time of the day we were there. And from the outside view of the building, I was sure about the whole situation inside it.
Greece is not only nice view, nice sea, nice company, nice souvlaki and nice music. Greece is also History. And we have to take care of it.
Even if we see it only from the cold business part of it, it could have been an attraction for the visitors to see a well kept, a well organized museum, which could have also been an open book to the greek history, a way for the people to know who Rigas was and a way for the locals to make some money.
Then we returned back to Afissos but with a small change, taking the way (after Lambinou) to Milies, Stavrodromi, Koropi.
