If Only......

If only walls could talk.

These walls are centuries old and form part of Stirling Castle. Clearly constructed at different periods in the evolution of the castle. I am sure they must have heard many conversations over the years. Happiness, sadness, music, laughter, tears, plots and whisperings, and the sad noises of thankfully long since ceased warfare.

These days the list would include the odd one-sided fragments of mobile phone conversations. I didn't hear it, and I don't think they were related, but it might have gone something like this..........

"I am at the wall - where are you?" "I'm up here above you on the ramparts. I can see you!"
