Controlling the Masses- Now and Then

Noticed this blip on the way to work... round satellite dish, round church window.

Then I started to think...

As a means of controlling the masses, the ruling classes and the church, for hundreds of years, made certain that few had the opportunity to learn to read or write.

A new means of control is now available to those in power. Satellite broadcasting. With the control of the media, and broadcasting agencies becoming more centralised, we are approaching an era where an ever decreasing number of people who control the media will be able to control or influence the thoughts, opinions and aspirations of the masses.

As a side effect, the masses will be come increasingly illiterate and before you know it we're back in the 15th Century!

For now I'm sticking with free TV and magazine subscriptions being delivered through the letter box!
