Bad Day
You know you've had a bad day when this is what appears in your traffic lane as the van in front of you pulls over...
Thankfully, it was just a truck being towed away, but still, my heart stopped for a few seconds! :)
So my communications group is preparing for Mother Nature's next event (Hurricane Irene due for landfall on saturday) while still dealing with the aftermath of her last (the centennial earthquake).
I was slightly bummed out today, alternating with being angry, at the criticism we took for our communications on the quake and at the complaints people lobbed at our security personnel. Personally, after several 'after-action-reports', I think we did a bang up job given that no-one had ever envisaged such a scenario and that we were flying blind for the most part. Our first message to employees went out through all channels a mere 10mns after the earth started shaking and we stayed at it for the next six hours. Sorry, I just had to vent! Am feeling much better now. :)
