Carrock Fell 2174ft

We walked up Carrock Fell today...4 hour round trip.

Warm sunshine as we set off...a whiteout on the summit...a few spots of rain on the way down!

Some of the rock is gabbro ( like the Black Coolin on Skye ). Also, there was a Tungsten Mine there, but it closed when world prices dropped.

It is a good spot for Geologists, mineralogists, archaeologists, rock climbers and fell walkers!
