Wild plum vodka in preparation

We found a wild plum bush in our local park this year and we are using the sweet red fruit to make a wild plum vodka, like sloe gin but with, er, plums and vodka. I put about a kilo of (knife-pricked) fruit in a jar tonight, topped it up to the same height with sugar, then poured in some vodka up to the same level. We need to leave it for at least 6 weeks before we can drink it. I like the little detail of the last little area of dry sugar in the jar. The vodka spread through the sugar faster than I was ready for!
