Camp Calder

What a wonderful weekend we had up at Glen Doll. Well, apart from the effort it took to find a campsite. The Forestry campsite up there has been closed since the last Foot & Mouth epidemic (although the Ranger made it clear that it was kept closed to avoid hordes of drink & drug fuelled parties taking place there. Who would do such a thing? Hmmm?)

The Ranger advice was to camp off Jock's Road but the carry in was about a mile and, with all the stuff you need to bring for family camping with a one year old, it was too far.

We ended up camping in the quarry car park. Which, on first sight, wasn't the most salubrious of locations. Still, we made it home and Camp Calder was set up. Lovely to spend some outdoor time with my family.
