Weather forecast
A late night resulted in an agreement to set no alarms and do no work this morning. Somehow that extended into doing no work this afternoon. And I don't feel guilty at all.
The mouse plan has had some promising early results, with two candidates already ejected from the house (Mr B takes care of that kind of thing, for fear my former vegetarian tendencies see a resurgence). However, he will be away for the next few days, so I think mice will have free run of the house until he gets back.
Today, though, has mostly been about the weather. (Caution, the next section may offend viewers from Scotland.) This morning the temperature was about 22 degrees - quite cool and pleasant. At about 11am the temperature dropped 8 degrees and a howling gale was soon blowing bits of tree past the house. Within a few minutes of this shot being taken, the rain was lashing down at 45 degrees.
Wonderful.
We opened all the doors and windows and let the icy cold (fly-free) air rush in. We stood in doorways and delighted in getting goosebumps. I even dug out a big woolly cardie just to feel it against my skin. Tonight I may be able to sleep in pjs, with a duvet, and with no fan on. (Though admitedly the fan does help hide the noise of the mice scurrying about and chewing the radiator.) This evening the skies are clear again, and warm weather is due back.
In other news, I had my first bambuser experience from the other end, chatting with folk on-line at the blip do in Edinburgh. Much fun. Not as much fun as being there. But better than nothing.
