The carnival makes a splash

Hurricane Irene starts to lash America's east coast, festivities break out in Notting Hill tomorrow and, on a smaller scale, Fishguard carnival took to the streets today when the tractor-drawn floats wove their way through town.
The one with the water pistols caused the most excitement.

(I don't usually tamper with the images much but this 'focal b&w' effect seemed to suit the subject matter on a rather dull day.)
