Brew Number Two
In preparation for the fall season and holidays, I decided to brew a pumpkin ale. I had a recipe to follow, but used it more as a guide, my first step toward creative brewing. The brew has all kinds of fall spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, etc) and real pumpkin. I split the pumpkin I added between pure pumpkin and pumpkin pie mix (basically pumpkin with added spices).
The pan in the back is the pumpkin which I baked for a few minutes to thicken up and add a little toasty flavor. This gave the beer an incredible orange color. Very excited about this one! Debating on adding mulling spices in the primary fermenter...
