Flower Power

So after yesterdays blip I went back to the flowers and managed to get a couple of good shots with the old macro lens.

Going through them all it came down to 2 shots which really stood out, so we put it down to a vote again and this one was declared winner.

I like the fact that you can see the pollen that has come off of the stamens in this one and, even though it is not the most attractive flower, and it is starting to wilt a little, the shot is still interesting.

For me this shot makes a simple flower look like something far more alien and is reminiscent of something that you may have seen on the original Star Trek
