Wild

The opening line was going to be 'Wet, windy and downright wild weather in Watten' however settled on this photo of the River Thurso rather than the one of the burst banks of the River Watten.

There was a drop of almost a metre into this grade 2/3 'stopper' wave i.e. a downright dangerous recirculating cauldron of flood waters. More like some of the high volume rivers I paddled in New Zealand many years ago than the usual meandering, traquil waters of the River Thurso.
