The Light Leading Me Home

This was an awesome sight as I drove up the long and windy rode coming home.

I live way up at the top of a hill and the sun beam seemed to be coming down exactly where I would be turning at the dead end that leads into the desert.

The more faint beam on the right seemed to be focused on my house.

It was as if the light was leading me home.

We hit 108F again yesterday and broke another record, the fourth time in five days we've broken or tied one. Today is expected to be in record-breaking territory again.

I can stand the heat - I just can't stand when the car has been outside in the sun for any length of time. Even if you use a windshield shade and cover your wheel and gear shift with a towel, it still gets too hot to handle. You can even get blisters from touching the metal part of your seat belt. Don't let anyone tell you, "But it's a dry heat!"
