A Cold Wind Will Blow

By Christ, Edinburgh. It's still meant to be August, not November. A few degrees warmer for a few more weeks would be nice.

Went to see One Day this evening with some friends, and I have to say it was not as terrible as I was expecting. Why they thought it would be a good idea to cast the epitome of American girl next door to play a quintessential Yorkshire lass is absolutely beyond me, but aside from that it was enjoyable enough. Despite being, at the end of the day, a rather tragic tale, it still gives me a little bit of hope: By the time they were 40, neither of the characters were anywhere near where they thought they would be in life on the night of their University graduation.

With so many of my friends scattering themselves across the boardgame of Earth like an upended bag of marbles, it will be very interesting to see where we all end up. Myself included...
