Clouds over the Shoulder of Mt Sherman
A good friend and I climbed Mt Sherman (14,036 feet)today one of Colorado's 53 peaks above 14,000 feet (4,267m) to escape the heat and take part in an essential Colorado summer activity. It was a beautiful day, clear skies giving way to billowing thunderheads as the day went on due to the summer monsoon.
It was my third trip up the mountain and second time summiting it (the first attempt way back in 1999 was not possible due to snow and fog in early September)
Signs of fall where everywhere on the tundra with the arctic gentians in full bloom, even though snow patches existed just up hill... reminders that winter is never far away in the high country.
