Ethnic eggplant

Tonight was all about preparation because it was Madhur curry night at Rodrigo Road. I bought these eggplant in the 'ethnic vegetables' section at Pak 'n Save - it's usually there at the weekends and I'm always curious about what will be there and why they call the vegetables 'ethnic'.

I made an ethnic eggplant curry with a tomato & prawn accompaniment.
