Ring of thanks
Home after dark, but finally getting somewhere with a bookkeeper who knows what she is doing. It really is a relief that the inordinate mess that another created in two months may be rectified in a matter of weeks.
I was thinking of something interesting to Blip........ This ring was given to me from one of my patients in the UAE over 10 years ago. I felt really bad at the time, but I was advised that I would have to take the ring out of courtesy.
I had just been to Oman, and loved their silver jewellery, amongst other things (one of my favourite places). I noticed this ring on one ladies finger and said it was beautiful. I couldn't really speak much Arabic, however, my nurse at the time may have spoken a little. I was surprised at how fine the ring was, considering it was made of silver. Each of the tracts is less than 1mm wide. It is quite worn and thin on the underside from many years of wear. I am sure it could tell a lot of tales, if only I knew where it came from. I have no idea of the significance of the ring to the owner.
I have never worn it, and it isn't the only thing that I had given to me right from the hand of the person, often with many hugs and affectations. Quite overwhelming when it happens.
