Nyima at a Crackington party
Last night we went to bed so early, earlier than I can remember in years. But it was the best solution to the constant wind battering the tent. We are pleased with our newish tent, which offers two bedrooms and a standing room area where we could hide from the inclement weather.
We woke to find the rain had returned, amid the blustery wind. Helena did me proud with a smashing cooked breakfast and good coffee. In fact all weekend she served up countless delights and surprises, for which thank you my darling!
We found several other attendees of Andrew and Lenny's party later that evening were camping on the same site. In fact, I met up with Meg, Andrew's niece who had worked as a carer for my parents in the latter years, and who I had lost contact with. She now had a little nipper, Oscar and her partner was there too.
When we went to the party at Andrew's chalet, their neighbours were also celebrating 35 years of living in sin, as Nicola was keen to announce. They both have wonderful wooden abodes nestling above the floodplain of the stream which flows into Crackington Haven, about 400 yards away.
A great feast was laid on, and the sun shone delicately from the west as it set over the sea, so we could eat outside. Andrew and Lenny's eldest daughter Jessie also came, as she is staying in England for a few months, with her other home in Dharamsala, India. Her daughter Nyima, is as you can see truly delightful with a character to match, full of vitality, energetically inquiring and wanting to play games at all times.
Here the sun has nearly set so a little flash was required to catch her siting on a garden chair whilst eating supper.
