Whiskey Barrel Aged Beer

Went to a friend's birthday party at the Rahr Brewery here in Fort Worth. A great time was had by all. Rahr had just received their whiskey barrels for this year's crop of Whiskey Winter Warmer. This is my favorite of all their beers. It is only available around the holidays. A strong beer that has sat in wooden barrels sucking up both the residual whiskey as well as the oak flavors. What a wonderful way to spend a cold evening. Sipping a sniftner of this beer. But as of today that cold evening is months away. We are days away from one that is under 100 degrees. Summer marches on.
