Walked in Faccombe today, lovely morning, and the keepers have released all the pheasants from their breeding pens. So everywhere these were flying from under our feet, most of them still young and looking plain and scrawny.
However, this one looked like the Big Daddy of the clan and I managed to corner him up this tree branch to "shoot him". Looked up everywhere to establish the exact species without success so ... the "Big Daddy Pheasant" it is. Tell me if you know better.
