Through Irenes Tail

More stars large...

As can be seen in yesterdays backblip Galaxy Gun blip the sky was nice and clear after Irene passed over.

So I went out and got some more night sky shots. It was great to be out in the clear air after being stuck inside for the previous 24hrs+ listening to howling wind and pouring rain.

This shot was a composite taken a few hours after Galaxy Gun. From about 12:15 to about 12:45 I think...

I have called this shot "Through Irenes Tail" because when I way making all the long exposures to create it, there were about 60, stripes of cloud kept going across the sky very fast. Irene was still moving away to the north and these were the clouds whipping around behind her on their way back around.

Also note that even when all 3 major airports in the area are closed and its after midnight you STILL get planes in your shot :-)

Its looking like we got off very lightly from Irenes visit. Just a load of mess to clear in the basement.
