Golf on Bank Holiday Monday

We are the only ones playing golf this morning on Stirling University 9 hole golf course.

Is this just another sign of the recession and the decline in interest in golf? this is only a small course normally very popular with holiday-makers so it was a suprise to discover we were the only ones there.
