Good Times

Slept in this morning after our late arrival. After cooking up some poptarts on the grill and getting ready we headed into Duluth to my hub's friend Roy. We had lunch at a local microbrewery and then the hub's and I head to a local liquor store to get some beer for the rest of our trip. The smile on the hub's face was like a kid in a candy store once he realized the selection that the store had!

Later that afternoon we went on an alpine coaster and zip-line (a cheating one that had you sitting in a large seat and went down a 700 foot cable at 30mph). The coaster was pretty dang fun and I was convinced I was going to be thrown from the cart at some point!

After a nap, we went for Mexican and then walked down by the canal for a bit. Duluth is located on Lake Superior and has port for many freighters. It is neat to watch the large cargo ships coming and going and seeing their extreme size. The blip is of the draw bridge at the canal. The road raises and lowers when freighters, sailboats, etc are going in and out of the bay. After that we then enjoyed a relaxing night by a campfire. Nothing like roasting marshmallows and enjoying a good beer by fire light!
