Brella

22months 9days

One of those "not at all to plan but still good" type days. We'd planned to go with friends to the beach but it was cold, grey and windy here. The beach was going to be much worse. So we decided to go to a big park in the next town. Packed the kids in the car and drove. They were both nearly asleep when we arrived. So we put them in prams, went for a wander round the market. They both woke up, full of it! We investigated a couple of new shops before we bundled bthem back in the car.

We drove to the garden centre, confident they'd both go to sleep. Jack was gone in seconds. Katie, not so much. We wandered the garden centre. She loved the brellas, froggy in particularly. She asked "sit down, cup of tea". She drank milk from the jug (I offered her a mug but she wanted the jug) and then wanted to go look at the animals - the garden statues and ornaments. She did some counting - one to ten, then 11, 13, 20. Bit of work needed on that one! By now we were heading for point of no return with the sleep, so it was energetic singing time.

We dropped Jack etc off and had a lovely time with the Cousins. She was shrieking names at the top of her voice in the car there, she was that excited. She belted round chasing balls, and her cousin and had a lot of fun. She kept flagging though and flopping on the sofa.

We stopped at the play cafe for an hour to keep her occupied and distract her from the sleep issue. That was fail. She went to sleep on me at 4, although I only left her 15minutes. Before she slept, she played in the ballpool for ages and went on the slides a few times - she's finally getting over her disliking of them. We'd parked in the supermarket and she didnt want to leave until we'd been to see the teddy (sooty) ride there!
