Glistening Ink Cap?
A funny kind of day, rain on and off during the morning then clearing away with some sun, almost as though it was still summer!
However, another sign of autumn was spotted in the garden - fungi. In this case I think it is Coprinus Micaceus or Glistening Ink Cap, which I understand is edible if refrigerated and cooked within 24 hours. However, as I am not 100% certain it is staying where it is on some old sycamore stumps.
One of the reference sites I looked at indicates it turns into a black inky mess as it gets older, which has certainly happened in previous years suggesting identification may be correct.
Looks pretty at this stage so may as well blip it now.
