Cardinal Country

Cardinals are a pretty familiar bird in our area, but it isn't easy to get one to sit still within reach of my lens. This one was being cooperative though. It is the state bird of Ohio along with six other states. This is the male, but as striking as it is, I like the females better. The ladies have attitude with a capital A.

More rain shortened my walk again today, and it is a good thing I came home when I did. It poured buckets for a long time this afternoon, while I sat in the house and read a book. Hope everyone had a peaceful Saturday.
