War Memorial, Cathays Park

A shot of the Welsh National War Memorial in Cathays Park. This is a remarkable memorial; it looks like an old Roman temple with the columns and Roman writing around the top (should be just about visible). It's also a bit mysterious as you should be able to go and sit on the benches inside it but it's all chained up. I've never seen it open, which is a shame, but it's still such a striking building (Grade 2 listed). I loved the look of the angel's wings against the cloudy sky. Realising just how many great statues and memorials there are in Cardiff, and all less than five minutes from my house! Very lucky indeed.
