Iron board shirt

I had a meeting with a man who (thinks he) would be king today. Rather amusing, he means well but it is easy to see where he is coming from. The lowlight of the day was when child #2 insistent on wearing shorts to cycle around in, yes you can see where this is going, skidded and scraped her leg rather badly. Such is the cacophony in general that I initially thought the screams were just 'normal' play, the girl who cried Aie!

The highlight of the day, well there were two, showing the eldest that playing violin with eyes shut is actually not that difficult and thereby getting her to play the best rendition of a tune of the night and secondly being given a very good lesson in chess. Oh boy I'm very rusty, was never that good in the first place but enjoy our nightly matches.

Oh and today in spite of some very menacing clouds, I did not detect any rain. ALthough it was announced that it was the coldest summer nearly since cds began, well 1983.
