Believe it or not this is all that is left of the mine shaft down which the miners used to go at Choppington Low Pit. Pity the yobs have covered the concrete pit plug with graffiti. Maybe we could arrange for it to be reopened and send the little bastards down for six months to see what people used to have to do after leaving school. Am I becoming a grumpy old git or do other people feel the same as I do?
