School... finally

His luck had to end eventually.

Tom has made it to age seven before 'proper' school has finally caught up on him. This is in part due to selecting a school with a European view on school entry and his birthday falling so early in the school year that, well, it hadn't even got going.

For this picture I had visions of a wistful backward glance or a small nervous wave to reflect the poignancy of the occasion.

Alas, it was more a case of 'stop dithering, we're going to be late'.
