Sigfrid From Berlin
I have recently been enjoying a little browse through my Irving Penn collection of books. I have always loved his photos of his wife and muse Lisa Fonssagrives. Sigfrid's look very much reminds me of Lisa's particular type of elegant glamour so I thought I would attempt a bit of a Penn-esque shot for today. This was taken outside the newly renovated Renaissance Hotel above St Pancras station. It's the most perfect place for a fashion-type shoot with a giant stone terrace dotted with tudor roses. The building itself makes for a very dramatic backdrop. The station is also wonderfully lit and a great place to find willing stranger models. Go on, why don't you?
