Saw this at a beach hut art exhibition on the South Bank near to the London Eye, there was even a jar of sand from the beach at Whitley Bay on six miles from where I live.

If you can't read it, it says "the windscreen wiper was invented in whitley bay in 1911 by Captain Gladstone Adams"

Bizarre !
