Warming up the vocal chords ahead of Ethan & Maria's karaoke party.

They're celebrating five years of marriage this weekend and the party did not disappoint.
There's a large raised deck behind their house that's great for parties. They made the huge peace flag you see above as a backdrop and rented a karaoke machine too.
Any fears we had about karaoke not working well outside were soon dispelled - it sounded great. The four of us spent the whole afternoon butchering classics in excited preparation.

By nightfall the deck was full and everyone really embraced the karaoke, it was a fantastic night. There was also my new favourite game of cornhole, and by the early hours when everyone had left (and we'd managed just the one visit from a police officer telling us to quiet down), Ethan and I very unwisely played on until four in the morning, the loser of each match even more unwisely had to knock back a glass of red wine.

For anyone who likes barbecues or garden gatherings in summer, I highly recommend making yourself a cornhole game. You can check out the rules here - it's a lot of fun.
