Covent Garden Bolero
In London today. We breezed around the National Portrait Gallery, taking a special look at the BP Awards exhibition, which is still on for a few more weeks. After a quick lunch, we split, G & P heading off to the Queens Theatre for the Les Miserables matinee, while L and I took Emma off to Covent Garden, which is where we spied the Lotus Classics. Today, they were a group of 2 guys and 3 gals, comprising a viola, violin, 2 flutes and a cello (looked like a 1/2 or 3/4 size). They played quite a variety of music, but as they say, with a twist. When they played the can can, they danced the can can - which must be very difficult, especially is you're the one playing the flute at the same time. Here's a link to their website.
Of course, the street entertainment around there always has something to offer photography, and choosing was difficult. The players offered best value all round, however, visually, there were better shots, but I've sacrificed them for the music!
We popped back into the Nat Gallery later and was impressed by the Impressionists rooms - there seem to be more there than last time I went - and they've been cleaned, I can tell.
On the way back we spent too long in Foyles, spent too much on yet more books, and had to drag both P & G from the shop. What a mess Tottenham Court Road is with the construction of the new booking hall for the tube.
Home some time after nine and Emma sound asleep already. I will follow soon.
