Mated

These two dragonflies have mated and are flying around laying eggs. The male is at the front and the female is behind. THey fly attached to each other until they find a good spot and then the male whips the female downwards and she lays eggs (mostly in mud at the side of the pond). Catching them in flight was a bit of a trick but I think I managed to get them ok.

In large you may notice that the male is missing the front left leg. I am not sure but I think it is eating it.
