ONE

It has been decreed that henceforth and with immediate effect, everything in Scotland will have a number. Number ONE is the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art; number TWO is the other bit of the SGMA, formerly known as the Dean Gallery (apparently that was too much for dim visitors to get their heads round, hence the re-naming / numbering). A spokesperson for the Scottish government said that the system needs time to 'bed in'.

The Prime Minister said 'Make no mistake, the fightback has begun. We will not be dictated to'.
