The Swan a sign of:

Majesty ? A Royal bird! Of the crown and of the rivers and lakes.

Commitment ? It is said Swans mate for life, a wonderful sentiment. Eternal love!

Beauty and Elegance ? Swan Lake ballet is one of the most well known ballets ever. Never seen a ballet, I think that's something I need to rectify.

Football ? The symbol of Wales' only Premiership side, Swansea City!

Night is over the park, and a few brave stars
Look on the lights that link it with chains of gold,
The lake bears up their reflection in broken bars
That seem too heavy for tremulous water to hold.

We watch the swans that sleep in a shadowy place,
And now and again one wakes and uplifts its head;
How still you are ? your gaze is on my face
We watch the swans and never a word is said.

A day which promised so much, but failed to deliver, never mind back to work tomorrow.
