Happy Birthday Carter!

Today my baby boy turned 7 years old. He is such a joy in our lives and brings so much to our family. We are so blessed!

He told me before going to bed that he had the "best birthday ever". I'm not sure what made it so perfect for him but I'm thrilled that's the memory he has.

Carter woke up early and as you can see by this picture was a bit excited when he came downstairs to find the mantel decorated and presents waiting for him. He couldn't wait until the evening when Dad got home from work so I let him open a couple small gifts to hold him over. In the afternoon I took both the boys to see Smurfs the movie and let them pick out all kinds of treats (at a small fortune!). Then we went out for a birthday dinner at one of Carter's favorite restaurants where they sang Happy Birthday to boths boys (since Jack's is on monday).

It was a fun day seeing the smile on his face! I love this little guy so much. I wish he could stay 7 forever!!!
