Mintfest

Today's the day .......................... to anticipate

It's nearly time for Mintfest to start - Kendal's International Festival of Street Arts - and it sounds like it's going to be even better than last year when it was absolutely brilliant.

The streets of the town will be alive with the sound of laughter, gasps and groans as dancers, comedians, musicians, clowns and acrobats take over the town centre. There are lots of other things going on at various venues and there is to be a spectacular finale from Wired Aerial Theatre which combines bungee-assisted dance, dramatic filmscape, original music and ingenious staging!

The other thing that is going to happen tomorrow morning which is getting me really excited is that Mr and Mrs Longshanks are coming round for coffee. They are up this way to see friends - and we've arranged a blipmeet. How good will that be to see them in the flesh after all these months of virtual communication?!

And what's more - they are bringing Mr Red Coated Birder (or RCB to his friends) with them. Will he be the way I've imagined him - slightly scruffy in his red coat, smelling a little bit of damp waterproofs and muddy boots?

The anticipation is killing me .........................
