Projection
Last summer, Felix and I wandered a neighbourhood during the day, ringing on doorbells, trying to make people smile. We got responses ranging from stone-cold fear to stories of watermelons. Motivation is in the air, and the adventuring has begun again.
Felix, D3, and myself, spicy chicken burgers, cameras, and notebook in hand, hit the streetz. The people we met, and something memorable about them:
Austin: He was sitting in a chair on the front lawn in blue board shorts and sunglasses. He warmly welcomed the strangers trespassing, and offered us a drink. Something was said about the inability to make complaints on a day such as this.
Terry: The second of the four people we met at the first house. He was, along with myself, among the section of the population that loves the snow and the wintertime.
Brandon: The feature of today's photo. Brandon brought a guitar out of the house, and started singing and playing. His voice projected extremely well, and contained so much emotion and rawness. He plays with his band Johnny News & The Paperboys.
Kathryn: The first words from her mouth were 'Oh, there are strangers on my lawn...Would you like some tequila?' She was wearing a bikini, in preparation for an afternoon swim.
Simon & Jasper: Simon was sitting on his porch in white ankle socks with red lettering, writing thank you notes for his wedding, a year late. I saw a painting in his window and asked if he had kids, to which he responded it was his own work. Oops. The style was very well done though, and I myself can't even draw as well as a child. Jasper was eagerly waiting to show off his gremlin face for us. D3 mentioned that Jasper reminded her of the Lion from Narnia.
