six degrees of separation
6/SIX
'Six degrees of separation' refers to the idea that if you are one 'step' away from each person you know, and they in turn know someone else, then you are no more than six 'steps' away from each person on earth - everyone being 'reachable' through a short chain of social acquaintances.
Several studies have taken place which do prove this idea, and while the exact number of links between people differs depending on population and social groups, on average it is found to be six (in developed cultures that is - I don't believe for one second that a monk in nepal is six steps away from a starving child in ethiopia, but you get the idea)
Kindof enforces the idea that we live in a "small world" though, eh?
Which got me thinking about Blip: Tonight me and DirtMonkey went round to see chunk (he cooks a mean chilli - that's chunk on the left and DM on the right in my blip). Now then - Dirtmonkey knows Hiraeth and Chunk knows melly and lives with little pitbull. And Hiraeth knows Red etc etc toinfinityandbeyond
So - nice to have met all you fellow blippers (even if it is by proxy).
