Queen Charlotte Sound
Today Kiwilizzie and I took off for other parts. We did a loop through Nelson Lakes to Havelock and then home to Murchison through Nelson. All in the name of blip. Well that and a get-away from the temptation to go into the office and work.
After a very nice late breakfast in Havelock we drove into the sounds a little. Took 250 photos, then drove over to Nelson where we planned a late lunch. On our way around the port we spotted Twigs so took a quick and illegal U turn and stopped for a chat.
Whilst chatting to Twigs my brother stopped alongside us for a chat too. H had just been over on Haulashore Island being some sort of official for the kayak part of a triathlon. He would have been competing himself but spent last weekend doing the Naseby Water Race - running 100 km's in under 12 hours - proof of madness in the family!
After chatting on the waterfront for the better part of an hour Kiwilizzie, Twigs and I adjourned to the Smugglers Pub and Cafe for a by then very late lunch/early tea.
All in all a brilliant day.
Hard to choose a blip, but this one is taken from a wee bay in the Sound.
Definitely best seen large
